What sets Calf-tel hutches apart?

(Opacity)- Calf-Tel is the only truly opaque hutch on the market. Calf-Tel blocks the light and protects the calf from the heat. Translucent hutches allow the light to penetrate, creating heat stress in calves. The opaque Calf-Tel provides an environment that is cooler, less stressful and healthier. Translucent competitors will have extreme temperatures as well as changes or swings in temperature that are detrimental to a young calf's respiratory system.

The Calf-Tel hutch is the only thermoformed hutch. It is made of High Molecular Weight Polyethylene promoting and extended life and producing a hutch that won't crack or break.

What type of site preparation is recommended?

  • Hutches and service aisles should be situated on a well-drained surface with a slight slope. Suggested materials for the site include crushed stone, gravel or sand.
  • Site should be large enough to allow hutches to be rotated to a fallow or dormant space. This provides a break in the life cycle of microorganisms that can build up in the soil.
  • Face hutch entrance away from prevailing winds.
  • Secure hutches to the ground.
